Rachel Berry, PhD
BIO
Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (#0810007753) in Virginia and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (#10964) in North Carolina.
MY EDUCATION
I received my PhD in Counseling Psychology from Northeastern University, my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University, and my BA in Art History from Davidson College. As a PhD student at Northeastern, I was a member of the APPEAR (Applied Psychology Program for Eating and Appearance Research) lab, where I conducted research on disordered eating and body image concerns and authored numerous manuscripts on these topics.
MY EXPERIENCE
I have been practicing as a therapist for nearly a decade in various settings, including university counseling centers (UVA, MIT, NC State, and Salem College), residential and day treatment for eating disorders, and outpatient substance abuse treatment. I have completed training in AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) and trauma-informed care.
I trained at Klarman Eating Disorders Center at McLean Hospital, a residential and partial hospitalization program in Belmont, Massachusetts. And I have served on the eating disorders treatment teams at three university counseling centers (UVA, MIT, and NC State).
